Born June 21st 1992, Keir is a solo singer-songwriter from Helensburgh who has been impressing audiences throughout his time at university and since with his yearning voice and compelling, insightful lyrics.
His style has been compared to Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Big Country and Amy MacDonald by audience members and former lecturers. His passion, melodies and his unusual profoundness have already left a significant impression on audiences in first Southampton, and latterly Glasgow.
With a consistent drive to perform, he has been a presence at open mic nights, folk clubs, café music sets and also participated in the singing competition Open Mic UK, advancing as far as the regional finals and with audience members opining that he had shown enough to justify further progress.
Keir also recorded and produced an album of 8 songs while in Southampton, which was given very positive feedback. It includes “A Brand New Start in Vain” and “Like Never Before”, the former of which has the potential to chart, according to his former vocal coach Nichola Christie.
